Hi Luigi,

Have you tried changing the setting of $sql_utf8_set_required (or, in 3.2, $mysql_utf8_set_required) in the configuration file?

Manual section 2.3.3

best

Andrew.

Subject: [CWB] [CQPweb] wrong encoding in frequency list

Dear all,
I am working with UTF8 corpora with the latest version of CQPweb and CWB suite.

All works fine i.e., I can make queries with UTF8 input and results appear with everything in place. However, frequency lists contain strange characters (even in English), probably for a wrong character encoding.

I have checked the frequency tables with a SQL client and characters are displayed correctly, so I suspect there is something wrong between CQPweb and the database.

Thank you in advance, best.

Luigi
