[CWB] cqpweb 3.3.17: A certain frequency breakdown works with superuser rights but fails for a normal user

We encounter the following problem at our new cqpweb installation:

We query a corpus with <200000 tokens for any token and then run 
"Frequency breakdown". The query works without problems when run under 
the cqpweb administrator account, but does not do anything when run from 
a cqpweb account with "Normal access" rights to the corpus.

There is nothing in /var/log/apache2/error.log

In /var/log/apache2/access.log I can find the error code 408 "Request 
Timeout".

I am stuck at the moment with this behaviour of cqpweb.
