[CWB] R error

I installed CQPWeb on another server (over which I have more control) and the problem is fixed. Like you say, it looks like R wasn’t functional on the original server but seems to be fine on the new one.

Hi Steve,

It's what it sounds like: CQPweb uses an R process to do certain calculations for the collocation process that can't be done within the SQL query for the collocates. (Namely to work out the conf intervals for Log Ratio.)

If it can't start up an R process, it aborts with that error message.

Possible reasons: The R executable is not on the path, and the $path_to_R config value has not been set. OR, there is something wrong with the R installation itself. OR, the www daemon user acct lacks permission to execute it.  That sort of thing.

Things to check:

Is your R installation fully up-to-date and functional?
Can you run R successfully from the command line?
Can the www daemon user run R successfully from the command line?
Is $path_to_R set correctly?
