[CWB] Manage text metadata from the command line

The answer is "yes, but not easily".

You'd need to work out the function calls needed - principally create_text_metadata_from_xml() - and then invoke them through a minimal script OR populate a GET array and then invoke the web script.

I'd really like to enhance the offline installer to make things like this possible. But with what's on my plate it's a low priority. Sorry.

(BTW If anyone is interested in CQPweb development, then this is somewhere where it would be possible to jump in without fully understanding the whole system, get something working, then send me the patch!)

best

Andrew.

Subject: [CWB] Manage text metadata from the command line

Hi there, is there a way to manage text metadata from the command line?
instead of:

  1. Go to the CQPWeb interface.
  2. Access to the installed corpus.
  3. In the "Admin tools" menu click on "Manage text metadata"
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page...
  5. Click on "Click here to install metadata from within-corpus XML annotation"
  6. In the new page, press the button "Select text attributes!"
  7. Under the question "Do you want to automatically run frequency-list setup?"

     * Check the option: "Yes please, run this automatically ..."

  1. And press the button "Create metadata table from XML using the settings above".
Many thanks, as always!
